A multi-stranded narrative that follows the story of a genderqueer writer and student, Garo, as they study the life and work of Armen Ohanian, an enigmatic Armenian performer and survivor of the early 20th-century anti-Armenian pogroms in Baku. Dear Armen weaves the stories of three generations of Armenian women and queers — featuring a blend of monologue, folk dance, erotic performance and live music. It has transformed through many iterations, including immersive theatre to interactive installation, zine, workshop, and short film.
